One Day Get-Aways

Country Lanes has a range of cycling days out that offer just a little bit more.
 
Be it a trip to the Isle of Wight, a cream tea at the end of your ride, or a visit to the National Motor Museum, our One Day Get-Aways offers you great savings. Our Sense of Place ride allows you to discover a hidden side of the National Park and the important role the area played during the Second World War.
 
On all of our One Day Get-Aways bikes come supplied with a pannier bag, and where appropriate gel saddle covers.

BIKE AND SAIL TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT

 
Explore the Isle of Wight by bicycle with this great special offer, in partnership with Wightlink Ferries. The cost of hire includes the return ferry crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth.

 
The Isle of Wight is an idyllic place and with over half the island designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it's easy to get close to nature on cycling routes to suit all abilities.
 

bike rideYour day out starts when you pick up your bikes at Brockenhurst station, then pedal or take the Heritage Line train to Lymington where your Wightlink ferry awaits you. After that you're free to follow our comprehensive route instructions at your own pace on the island, before returning in the late afternoon to return the bikes to us before closing.

Other points
In order to have enough time to spend on the island we recommend customers arrive at our cycle hire centre no later than 11am on the day of hire. We do not send out bikes to the island after 11am. We expect that riders going to the Isle of Wight are able to replace and repair an inner tube if needed. We do not send our tandems to the Isle of Wight.

NEW FOREST ONE DAY GET-AWAY   

 
Catch a morning train to Brockenhurst in the New Forest for a healthy day of easy on and off road cycling. You'll find your quality cycles fitted with a pannier bag and gel saddle cover. Your hire includes free use of safety helmet, security lock and key.  Your day ends with a well-earned afternoon tea in a village tea room.

BEAULIEU ONE DAY GET-AWAY

There really is something for everyone at Beaulieu. At the National Motor Museum you will find the largest car collection in the UK, and within its grounds the remains of Beaulieu Abbey and the Palace House and Gardens, home to the Montagu family since 1538. Our Beaulieu One Day Get-Away includes entry into the Beaulieu attractions.

The cycling takes in a beautiful route across the National Park. Arrive in Brockenhurst by train or car and then use forest tracks and quiet roads to cycle to Beaulieu. On route you will pass Hatchet's Pond on Beaulieu Heath and on the return trip have an opportunity to stop at the Turfcutter's Arms at East Boldre for refreshments.

SENSE OF PLACE LOCAL HISTORY RIDE

The New Forest played an incredibly important role during the Second World War, and on this ride you will discover some of the places that are part of this history. As part of the ride you will be given our historic ride guide to take with you, to complement our detailed route instructions.
